Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership
* Integrate and deliver the commercial strategy, adapting it as the project progresses.
* Act as the lead commercial representative, protecting the company’s contractual and financial interests.
* Influence and challenge project teams to ensure strong commercial outcomes.
Project & Contract Management
* Prepare and analyse tenders; select and manage subcontractors through to final account.
* Prepare and agree valuations, applications for payment, and certificates/invoices.
* Maintain accurate and timely cost reporting, including CVRs and projected final accounts.
* Lead the preparation, submission, and negotiation of final accounts.
Claims, Risk & NEC Administration
* Manage delay, loss & expense claims, producing detailed supporting arguments.
* Administer NEC contracts confidently.
* Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder & Team Management
* Present commercial information clearly and confidently in meetings.
* Manage junior commercial staff where required.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
* Strong NEC contract knowledge and administration skills.
