Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Annual Salary: £65,000 to £85,000
- Location: Dorset, with site visits
- Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a Surveyor with a strong background in quantity surveying and preferably, Civils or groundworks. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who is confident and capable of meeting challenging deadlines daily. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including financial reporting, site visits, and client correspondence.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work within the Commercial team, reporting to the board as necessary.
- Conduct monthly reporting and financial analysis of site activities.
- Perform periodic site visits, typically once per week.
- Discuss site activities with construction teams and submit variations to the client.
- Handle client correspondence, focusing on commercial and contractual matters.
- Measure and quantify from both drawings and site visits.
- Produce Bills of Quantities and cost breakdowns.
- Compile and submit monthly applications.
- Participate in the estimating process as needed.
- Communicate commercial information to other departments.
- Attend client meetings, sometimes alongside Senior Management.
- Form and submit subcontractor enquiries.
- Check and approve subcontractor invoices.
- Perform general administrative duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Ideally experienced in Groundworks, Civils or Residential groundworks
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Proficiency in numeracy and literacy.
- Efficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
- Ability to adhere to strict deadlines while being self-motivated.
