Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Hybrid – Manchester Office (3 days on-site)

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: Minimum 12 month contract

Security Clearance: SC clearance desirable


Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major nuclear/energy infrastructure project. The successful candidate will provide commercial and contractual support, ensuring project cost control, risk management, and compliance with contractual obligations. Candidates with nuclear, oil & gas, or heavy industrial experience working under NEC4 contracts are encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and manage cost estimates, budgets, and commercial reports.
  • Monitor project costs, variations, and financial performance.
  • Administer NEC4 contracts, including change control, compensation events, and contractual claims.
  • Provide commercial advice to project management teams, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Support forecasting, reporting, and cost control activities across the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in audits and ensure alignment with internal and external regulations.


Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale projects, ideally within nuclear, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and contract administration.
  • Excellent commercial and financial management skills.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • SC clearance (or eligibility) highly desirable.
