Senior Quantity Surveyor - Transport/Infrastructure
North Cumbria - £45,000 - £55,000 + package

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial and cost aspects of significant transport and infrastructure projects in the North Cumbria region. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering projects from inception to completion, ensuring financial and contractual objectives are met.


As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading commercial management across large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Preparing and maintaining cost plans, budgets, and cash flows.

  • Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments.

  • Providing accurate cost reporting and commercial advice to project teams and clients.

  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating commercial risks.

  • Mentoring and supporting junior QS staff where required.


The Ideal Candidate

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:

  • Proven experience in infrastructure, highways, or civil engineering projects.

  • Strong understanding of contract administration, measurement, and valuation techniques.

  • Excellent knowledge of commercial procedures and risk management.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g., MRICS) preferred.
