Job role: Senior Quantity Surveyor – Data Centre Sector Location: London Salary: Competitive salary plus excellent benefits and career opportunities We are working with a leading construction company who work on high profile projects across London who are looking for a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based in London. This role involves overseeing several concurrent construction projects, ensuring strong commercial outcomes while fostering collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, and delivery teams. Key Responsibilities Oversee commercial and cost management aspects across multiple live projects. Ensure effective use of financial controls, reporting tools, and administrative systems. Lead and coordinate commercial teams to support successful project delivery from pre-contract through to final account. Review tender and contract documentation in detail, identifying commercial risk and opportunity. Evaluate, appoint, and manage subcontractors and suppliers in line with project requirements. Administer contracts in accordance with agreed terms, including assessment and substantiation of variations, extensions of time, and claims. Monitor programme and cost performance, ensuring projects remain aligned with approved budgets and timelines. Support the definition and control of project scope, milestones, and deliverables. Prepare and present cost reports, forecasts, and variance analysis, identifying root causes and corrective actions. Provide clear reporting on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies. Work closely with clients to support their objectives through proactive commercial advice and cost certainty. Ensure subcontracts are accurately drafted, administered, and aligned with agreed scope, payment mechanisms, and programme requirements. Promote contract awareness across project teams, ensuring site and office staff understand key obligations and processes. The ideal candidate will be Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline recognised by SCSI and/or RICS.A proven track record working within Critical environments such as Data Centres or Life Sciences. Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and consultant relationships, supporting repeat business opportunities.
