Wood is seeking an established Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to support our growing workload within the Commercial area of our Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd entity. As a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, we are at the forefront of net zero 2050 with a secured workstream for years to come.

We offer a supportive work environment, competitive salary, and the opportunity to work in Scotland in the Argyll area for a 3-5 year framework with our client SSE. The role can be site-based, hybrid, or remote with travel considered. We seek an experienced Quantity Surveyor, eager to work with a dynamic team and take on new challenges.

This role is suitable for a commercially minded Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor from civils/infrastructure/construction background, comfortable working as the Principal Contractor, with a broad project portfolio, and looking for a high-profile multi-million-pound contract challenge. The candidate should be experienced in cost & change control, contract & subcontract administration, and project reporting, managing clients and subcontractors simultaneously. Opportunities for progression and further Scotland-based projects are available. Sound commercial judgment, flexibility, collaboration skills via MS Teams, and willingness to travel across Scotland are essential.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial support on financial and contractual matters, including contract administration, project plans, cost analysis, cashflow forecasts, subcontracting strategies, internal reviews, and project forecasts. You will manage projects from construction start-up through execution, ensuring performance within budgets and adherence to deadlines.
