This role is an exciting opportunity to help deliver major infrastructure projects, including works to service and enable land, highways projects and new community amenities, to help create an ambitious,sustainableand vibrant new community of 8,500 homes at theGilstonPark Estate in East Hertfordshire. GilstonPark Estate is a once in a generation opportunity to deliver six distinct new villages bound together by landscape and community to the north of Harlow. It is unique in its design and infrastructure-led approach, with six distinct villages, each with their own character, buffered by accessible green spaces and, crucially, linked by a sustainable transport network which will enable residents' direct access to Harlow's economic opportunities and infrastructure plus accessibility by road and rail to elsewhere to achieve ambitious 60% modal shift targets.
The infrastructure to be delivered includes major highways projects including new bridges over a river and railway, new country parks, community amenities and works to service and enable land for 8,500 new homes and supporting amenities including a leisure centre, sportsfacilitiesand a health centre. More about your role This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in delivering major infrastructure programmes as part of the ambitiousGilstonPark Estate development-a new, sustainable community of 8,500 homes in East Hertfordshire. As Senior Quantity Surveyor,you'llplay a key role in the successful delivery of complex infrastructure including highways, bridges, utilities,landscapingand community amenities. From projectinceptionthrough to completion,you'llensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards, including CDM regulations. You'lllead on budget management, forecasting and programme control, securing planning and technical approvals, and overseeing procurement activity. The role also involves managing multidisciplinary teams, administeringcontractsand tendering processes, and driving value engineering to deliver cost efficiencies. Strong stakeholderengagement, robust recordkeeping, and clear reporting to senior leadership will be essential to ensure projectsremainon track and aligned with businessobjectives. More about you We're looking for an experienced Senior QS with a strong background in delivering largescale infrastructure projects such as highways, civils,drainageand utilities.You'llbringindepthknowledge of construction methodologies, cost management, contract administration (NEC / JCT)and regulatory compliance. You'llbe confident leading multidisciplinary teams, managing complex stakeholder relationships and navigatinghighvalueschemes. Exceptional communication,leadershipand negotiation skills are key, along with the ability to influence outcomes and support the successful delivery of major strategic projects.
