Job Description
Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Hybrid – Manchester Office (3 days on-site)
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: Minimum 12 month contract
Security Clearance: SC clearance desirable
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major nuclear/energy infrastructure project. The successful candidate will provide commercial and contractual support, ensuring project cost control, risk management, and compliance with contractual obligations. Candidates with nuclear, oil & gas, or heavy industrial experience working under NEC4 contracts are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and manage cost estimates, budgets, and commercial reports. Monitor project costs, variations, and financial performance. Administer NEC4 contracts, including change control, compensation events, and contractual claims. Provide commercial advice to project management teams, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies. Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure contractual compliance. Support forecasting, reporting, and cost control activities across the project lifecycle. Participate in audits and ensure alignment with internal and external regulations.
Essential Experience & Skills:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale projects, ideally within nuclear, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors. Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and contract administration. Excellent commercial and financial management skills. Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. SC clearance (or eligibility) highly desirable.
