We are representing a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex groundworks and infrastructure projects across the UK. Due to sustained growth in their London and South East operations, they are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the commercial delivery of major schemes across London and the surrounding areas .

\nThe Role\n

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for significant groundworks packages on large-scale infrastructure and civil engineering projects. You will work closely with project and site teams while providing leadership and commercial assurance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

\n

\n \n Leading the commercial management of groundworks packages from pre-contract through to final account

\n

\n

\n Procuring, negotiating, and managing sub-contractor and supplier packages

\n

\n

\n Preparing and agreeing valuations, forecasts, and cost/value reconciliations

\n

\n

\n Producing and submitting applications for payment, variations, and contractual claims

\n

\n

\n Managing change control processes, including Compensation Events under NEC contracts

\n

\n

\n Providing commercial input to project strategy and risk management

\n

\n

\n Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff where required

\n

\n

\n Ensuring full compliance with contractual terms and internal commercial governance

\n

\n

\nAbout You\n

\n \n Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

\n

\n

\n Proven experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level within civil engineering or groundworks contracting

\n

\n

\n Strong understanding of groundworks packages on infrastructure or major construction projects

\n

\n

\n Solid contractual and commercial knowledge, with NEC experience highly advantageous

\n

\n

\n Confident leading procurement, subcontract management, and cost reporting

\n

\n

\n Well organised, commercially astute, and comfortable working across multiple stakeholders

\n

\n

\n Willing and able to work on projects across London and the surrounding regions

\n

\n
