Group People and Talent Business Partner. Helping to build and support our teams at Praetura Lending Group.
About us
Praetura Group was founded to provide growing and ambitious companies the funding they need to succeed. By bringing a diverse range of financial services together, we can support businesses as they scale, and their funding requirements change.
At Praetura, we know it takes more than just capital to build a great business. It takes funding on the right terms, with the support of people who’ve been there before. And that’s what we try to provide - more than money.
Our Team
We have our own web-based platform, developed in-house and used to manage business lending operations. The platform is built with .NET (C#) on the backend and React on the frontend, hosted in AWS and handling workflows that include external integrations, data pipelines, batch processing, and partner APIs.
We're transitioning from a fully offshore model to a hybrid delivery team. As part of that, we're hiring a small group of experienced UK-based developers to take deeper ownership of delivery, quality, and technical standards.
We operate in a regulated sector where security, auditability, and data integrity are non-negotiable. At the same time, we avoid unnecessary overhead — processes exist to support delivery, not get in the way.
What You'll Be Doing
- Planning and executing thorough manual testing of new features and changes
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive test cases for complex financial workflows
- Performing regression testing to ensure system stability across releases
- Establishing clear quality standards and driving adoption across the team
- Verifying requirements are met and user journeys function as expected
- Working closely with developers to identify, document, and reproduce issues
- Tracking defects through to resolution and verifying fixes
- Validating system integrations with third-party services and data providers
- Collaborating with our offshore team — strong communication is essential
- Supporting UAT processes and stakeholder sign-off for releases
Our Technology
- Web application built with React/Material UI frontend and .NET backend
- Complex financial workflows and business rule implementation
- GraphQL & REST APIs
- PostgreSQL database on AWS
- Third-party integrations and data feeds
- Jira for defect tracking and test management
- GitLab for version control
- DataDog for monitoring and alerting
What We're Looking For
- Substantial experience in manual QA testing for web applications
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to testing
- Experience testing complex business workflows, particularly in financial or regulated environments
- Ability to think critically about how users interact with systems
- Excellent communication skills for defect reporting and requirement clarification
- Comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment
- Experience working with distributed or offshore teams
- Familiar with agile development processes and tools like Jira
- Experience with API testing and database validation
- Bonus: Financial sector experience or understanding of lending/financial processes
Why This Role Matters You'll be a crucial part of our quality assurance process, ensuring that our platform remains reliable and fit for purpose as we enhance and expand it. In a financial environment, undetected issues can have serious consequences, making your thorough testing vital to our business. This role offers the opportunity to establish quality processes that will shape how we deliver software going forward.
What We Offer A stable, well-run environment with meaningful work and no unnecessary layers. If you're meticulous about quality and understand the importance of thorough testing in a business-critical system, we'd like to hear from you.
