Senior Project Manager – Market Data Transformation (Energy Trading) | Market Data Migration – Senior Project Manager (Contract) | Inside IR35 | £700–£800/day | Hybrid London


A Senior Project Manager – Market Data Transformation is required for a major Energy Trading organisation undergoing a long-term data modernisation programme. The project has been running for 18 months and focuses on transforming the market data repository and migrating to a third-party solution.


Senior Project Manager will be a strong, delivery-focused Senior Project Manager to take ownership of driving progress, enforcing timelines, and ensuring successful delivery across a complex, multi-team environment.


This is a critical role within a high-visibility programme, requiring someone who can bring structure, urgency, and clear direction to a team to give strong delivery discipline.


Paying £700–£800/day (Inside IR35)

️ Hybrid working – London

Contract to end of year (likely extension into next year)

Start date: ASAP (can wait up to 1 month)


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of a market data transformation programme, including migration to a third-party platform
  • Drive execution across a complex landscape of stakeholders, systems, and teams
  • Enforce timelines, ownership, and accountability across delivery teams
  • Manage and coordinate BA, Development, and cross-functional teams (Front Office & Back Office)
  • Own project governance, reporting, and stakeholder communication
  • Re-baseline plans, manage risks, and ensure delivery remains on track
  • Escalate effectively and proactively to senior stakeholders
  • Coordinate with multiple dependent teams to ensure prioritisation and alignment
  • Implement structured, efficient delivery processes across both Waterfall and Agile environments
  • Ensure clear, concise communication across all levels of the programme


Essential

  • Strong Senior Project Management experience within complex transformation programmes
  • Experience delivering data migration and modernisation projects
  • Background in Energy Trading (Power, Gas, Oil) – highly desirable
  • Experience managing diverse teams (BA’s, Developers, stakeholders, FO & BO)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive delivery in challenging environments
  • Strong governance, planning, and risk management capabilities
  • Experience working across Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent stakeholder management and escalation skills
  • Clear, concise communication style – no waffle
  • Highly organised, delivery-focused, and proactive
  • Experience with market data platforms
