Senior Project Manager – FCDO – G7 Location: Hanslope, South East England, MK19 7BH Job Summary At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas by designing and constructing secure government buildings, safeguarding government technology and more. Our Digital and Data technology team delivers cutting‑edge digital, data and technology solutions for UK government. As a Senior Project Manager you will own a portfolio of vital government security projects, translating business needs into actionable plans and ensuring delivery within cost, quality and time constraints. Responsibilities
Own and deliver a wide range of secure government digital, data and technology projects. Write business cases, translate requirements and realise benefits while managing budgets, risks and timelines. Identify opportunities to grow repeat business and embed rigorous risk and change management processes. Build relationships with senior leaders, technical teams, government partners and stakeholders to ensure compliance with the Programme Operating Framework. Champion user‑needs, accessibility and service‑design principles throughout the project lifecycle. Lead preparation for GDS assessments on internal governance boards and collaborate with researchers, designers and technical architects to deliver secure, scalable services.
Qualifications
APM PMQ, PRINCE2, Agile Project Management or equivalent certification. Strong understanding of Government Functional Standards, Secure‑by‑Design principles and Agile delivery methodologies. Proven ability to manage large budgets, risks and multi‑disciplinary teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, including experience working with senior leadership. Familiarity with project tools such as MS Project or equivalent.
Preferred Experience
Experience in FCDO Services or a similar secure government organisation. Hands‑on knowledge of resource management, development and allocation processes. Understanding of the organization’s financial and commercial processes. Experience delivering digital or technical projects in secure or government environments.
