Senior Product Designer

New Yesterday

At IVC Evidensia we’re on a mission to go beyond healthy for every pet (and their owners). Unlike retail pet brands, we’re part of the world’s foremost group of Veterinary experts, IVC Evidensia, and our products are built with complete pet wellness as the North Star!

Modern Pet owners want to go beyond analogue insurance and buying bags of store-brand kibble... they think of their pets as part of the family, and they take their pet’s health seriously. They want products & services personalised to their needs, guiding them on their journey together, empowering them to be the best owner and giving their pets the best life.

We are there for every moment of care, from those first steps at home together, great nutrition & hygienic medication, wellness checks and more. We are there with re-assuring trusted advice, regular vaccinations, specialist health treatment, those big life emergencies and everything in-between. We have thousands of clinics and specialists across the UK, Europe and Canada, serving millions of happy pets every year, plus a wide range of pet services to turn our vision into reality. Healthier Pets = Happier Owners

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join us on our mission. To find out if that’s you, continue reading...

Who will you be working with?

This role is a Senior role (L4) within our newly formed Customer Engagement Team. This team will be primarily accountable to ensuring pet owners are engaging with us in ways which help push forward our mission of preventative care. This team will be expected to collaborate with other teams in the Customer Tribe, some focused on bookings, reminders, health plans and more.

As a Senior, your role is part of this Customer Engagement Team’s Leadership, and you’ll shape this team’s goals, objectives, strategy, and roadmap

Our Technology teams operate from digital hubs in London, Bristol, Stockholm, and Porto. We are a remote-first team working together to shape a new era in pet health. We’re backed by some of the world’s leading investment groups and have operations in the UK, Europe, and North America.

We are experts in Animal Health, Veterinary Services, and Operations, Creatives, Engineers, Designers, Product, Marketing, and Data experts, and most of all, people with a passion for pets. We’re a team growing our user-centricity and specialist skills to help deliver change piece by piece within a larger organisation.

What will you be doing?

This role will be a collaborative leader across Product + Design + Engineering, using foundations of discovery and data-driven delivery, to build solutions that get Pet Health Club members engaging with us in new ways and, help our clinic professionals deliver healthier outcomes to more pets.

Gain understanding: Whilst you’re not expected to have prior knowledge of our domain (veterinary/pet health) you are expected to do user research to better understand both our clients (pet owners), our patients (the pets) and our wonderful healthcare professionals (the vets).

Own it: You’ll get stuck in, finding quick wins and/or big opportunities, have a hypothesis, brainstorm, experiment, gather insights, prototype, discuss with partners, iterate, increment and repeat.

Champion user-centred principles: Use your understanding and practice combined with your creative skills to craft solutions that address user needs, pain points, and preferences.

Think Big, Test Small: Think about end to end solutions, balancing creative ambition of a future state with iterative thinking and feasibility in mind - how to learn what works and get feedback on the approach quickly.

Present with context: Explaining the strategic thought behind creative decisions to partners across departments, some of whom may be unfamiliar with product strategy and design.

What are you expected to bring to the team?

Experience: You’ve spent time (~4+ years) creating and shipping intuitive digital experiences, with the portfolio to back it up. Bonus points if you’ve worked in Healthcare.

Craft: Finely tuned visual, UI, and interaction skills. Ability to identify a user problem and take it from concept to high-fidelity solution.

Team player: You exhibit kindness, humility and authenticity. Seeking to understand your teammates and assuming good intentions. Aiming to bring your best self to work and challenge others to do the same.

Communication: You have good verbal and written communication skills, a passion for connecting with users, and giving honest and actionable feedback to your colleagues.

Growth mindset: You’re constantly seeking opportunities to improve your craft, collaboration, and drive product outcomes. You take the initiative and ask questions about how we can do better together.

Toolkit: You’re highly proficient with Figma, have worked with a Design System, and built prototypes to bring experiences to life. Bonus points if you’re up to speed with variables, auto-layout and Figma’s power features.
