Salary Range £60,000 - £70,000Senior Principal Designer – Building Regulations Central London (Hybrid)Construction Consultancy | Residential & Higher Risk BuildingsCarriera is partnering with a well-respected construction consultancy that is growing its Principal Designer (Building Regulations) offering. We are seeking an experienced professional to deliver Principal Designer services in line with the Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA) across a varied portfolio of residential projects, including Higher Risk Buildings (HRBs).This is an excellent opportunity to join a consultancy with a strong reputation for quality, compliance, and client service, as Principal Designer (Building Regulations), you will work with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, and private sector clients, delivering Principal Designer services across the design and pre-construction stages.Key responsibilities include: Delivering Principal Designer (Building Regulations) duties in accordance with the Building Safety Act 2022Ensuring design teams are competent and appropriately resourced to discharge their dutiesReviewing and monitoring design work to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and Building Safety requirementsReviewing Building Safety Cases and supporting project compliance strategiesAttending design team and client meetings in line with agreed scopes of serviceReviewing existing designs, specifications, and technical documentation for regulatory complianceManaging and monitoring design changes through agreed Change Management proceduresObtaining written confirmation from designers and consultants confirming compliance with Building RegulationsPreparing and submitting signed competence declaration. Project Experience Residential developments across public and private sectorsMixed-use schemes and regeneration projectsFire remediation and building safety improvement worksHigh-rise and complex residential buildings You will ideally demonstrate: Experience in a Principal Designer, Design Management, or Architectural positionStrong leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate and influence multi-disciplinary design teamsProactive approach with excellent time management and organisational skillsConfident, professional client-facing skills and the ability to build trusted relationshipsSound knowledge of CDM Regulations and Building RegulationsExperience implementing health and safety procedures and monitoring design complianceSite experience within the construction or built environment sector Desirable: Professional qualification in architecture, building surveying, building services, or similarMembership of or working towards IMaPS, GradIOSH, or higherNEBOSH Construction or Occupational Health & Safety CertificateWorking towards or registered with the RIBA Principal Designer Register or an equivalent body (CIAT, APS, etc.) Package & Benefits Competitive salaryDiscretionary bonusPension contributionsPrivate medical insurance28 days annual leave including Bank HolidaysAdditional Christmas closure days (subject to management discretion)Birthday leave ApplyTo apply or for further information, please apply directly with your CV.
