Location: Berkshire areaJob Type: Full Time, Permanent***OPEN TO JUNIOR, SENIOR & PRINCIPAL LEVEL ENGINEERS.***Join a leading defence technology team delivering secure, high-performance electronics for critical applications across cyber, aerospace, and national security.Our client is looking for an experienced PCB Design Engineer to take ownership of complex, multi-layer PCB design and layout across a range of advanced programmes.You will play a key role in delivering high-reliability PCB designs (4–20 layers) for cutting-edge systems, working closely with electronics, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and layout complex multi-layer PCBs (4–20 layers) including rigid, flex and rigid-flex designsDeliver high-speed, RF, analogue, digital and power PCB layouts to demanding performance standardsApply best practice in PCB design for signal integrity, EMC, and manufacturability (DFM/DFT)Define stack-ups, controlled impedance routing, and via structures (blind/buried)Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure PCB design meets electrical and physical requirementsWork with manufacturers to ensure PCB designs are production-ready and optimisedIncorporate test strategies into PCB layouts without compromising performanceMaintain and develop PCB CAD libraries (symbols & footprints)Support design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement in PCB design processes and toolsRequired Skills & ExperienceProven experience in PCB design, layout and routing of complex electronic assembliesStrong track record delivering multi-layer, high-density PCB designsExperience designing high-speed, RF, analogue and power PCBsProficiency with industry-standard PCB design tools (e.g. Altium, PADS)Solid understanding of signal integrity, EMC, and PCB layout best practicesExperience working with DFM/DFT and PCB manufacturing processesSecurity RequirementsDue to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC/DV).
