Senior Mechanical Project Manager | M&E Building Services | Southampton | £70,000£80,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to join a respected M&E Building Services contractor delivering projects from £200k to £5m across the commercial, office fit-out, healthcare, education, industrial, and leisure sectors. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical installations and is known for its collaborative culture, technical capability, and long-standing client relationships. With a secure pipeline of repeat business and continued growth, they are now looking to strengthen their project delivery team. Projects are predominantly within commercial and office fit-out environments, alongside selected healthcare and education works. Mechanical packages typically include HVAC systems, heating and cooling plant, ventilation, pipework, public health services, and plantroom installations. This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completion, while working closely with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery. Senior Mechanical Project Manager

As Senior Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of mechanical building services projects, overseeing all aspects from initial handover through to completion. You will manage projects either individually or across multiple smaller schemes, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key responsibilities include: Managing mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to handover Overseeing projects typically ranging from £200k to £5m Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers Managing programme, progress, and project delivery timelines Maintaining strong client relationships and acting as a key point of contact Ensuring all works are delivered in line with technical specifications and standards Monitoring project costs, variations, and commercial performance Working closely with design and estimating teams during project lifecycle Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical Building Services project delivery and will be confident managing projects independently. Experience as a Mechanical Project Manager, Senior Mechanical Project Manager, M&E Project Manager, or Mechanical Contracts Manager Strong background within M&E or Mechanical Building Services contracting Proven experience delivering mechanical projects up to £5m Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, plant, pipework, and associated services Experience managing multiple stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams Good commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs and variations Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills This role requires experience within mechanical installation contracting. Candidates from FM, maintenance, or service-only backgrounds will not be suitable. We are looking for individuals with a stable employment background who can demonstrate consistent delivery across previous roles. Remuneration Package
