Role : Senior Mechanical Project Manager
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £100,000 + Car Allowance + Travel Allowance + Pension + Healthcare + Benefits
We are seeking an experienced professional who will be responsible for managing the tendering of suitable packages during the bid stage and overseeing the day-to-day operational delivery of large-scale, multi-disciplinary defence projects. The role includes responsibility for design coordination, procurement, installation, logistics, compliance, commissioning, and project handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and commercially in line with organisational standards and values.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and lead discipline-specific packages throughout the tendering process.
* Work closely with design teams, ensuring familiarity with current design stages and protocols to effectively manage delivery for the electrical discipline.
* Ensure full compliance with design and engineering requirements, specifications, and drawings to support the compliant construction of works.
* Administer established project processes and controls to ensure compliance with internal procedures and governance standards.
* Support continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned, good practice, and insights from project activities.
* Develop, implement, and monitor project programmes, setting milestones and key deliverables to ensure successful delivery.
* Identify, manage, and communicate risks, implementing mitigation strategies while pursuing opportunities to improve project outcomes.
Requirements
* A proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale MEP projects within programme and commercial constraints.
* Formal technical or engineering qualifications from a recognised industry provider.
* Health and safety training accreditation (minimum SMSTS or equivalent).
* Experience and knowledge of testing and commissioning processes for complete MEP installations.
* Previous line management experience and a strong track record in developing teams.
* The ability to manage multiple disciplines, interfaces, and complex work sequencing across major projects.
