Job Description

Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Role: Electro-mechanical Systems

Location: Cambridgeshire

Salary: £45k-£65k

Platform Recruitment has partnered with a manufacturer that designs and develops complex hardware with applications in precision automation, electro-mechanical systems, and advanced manufacturing, from early-stage R&D through to full production. You’ll be joining a talented, multidisciplinary team working at the cutting edge of innovation, delivering robust mechanical solutions that integrate seamlessly into larger, system-level platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & deliver complex mechanical subsystems within integrated platforms Full product lifecycle development – concept , detailed design & design for manufacture Conduct hands-on prototyping & testing Work in a highly skilled multidisciplinary engineering team Project leadership – lead projects, mentor & technically guide engineers

Key Requirements:

Background in developing electro-mechanical systems, machinery or robotics Strong 3D CAD skills Proven experience in developing new products & precision mechanisms Knowledge of a range of manufacturing techniques Hands on and practical skills – prototyping & testing Demonstrable project leadership experience
