Senior Manager Technical Accounting and Reporting Location: London Contract: Permanent Hours: Full time - 35 hours Purpose of the role The Senior Manager Technical Accounting and Reporting is a team leadership role in the Finance Operations and Regulatory Reporting function, upholding the financial integrity of results in a dynamic and high-growth organisation. This role requires deep knowledge of life insurance and reinsurance accounting and stewardship of Solvency II and related regulatory reporting and changes. In this role you will present insightful analysis of GAAP ledger, controls and Solvency II reporting to the Executive leadership team. About Just We help people achieve a better later life. Key Responsibilities
Manage the monthly reporting close process to ensure results are complete, accurate and compliant with group accounting policies Challenge and analyse financial inputs from other teams (Group, Actuarial, Treasury and Tax) Assist in providing business support on material finance transactions and projects Support finance transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, effectiveness and reduce operational risk Support production of financial statements and regulatory returns for UK life, distribution and management services companies Collaborate with Actuarial, Finance and business managers to keep the team updated on new products and external changes Report and ensure understanding of risks regarding results production and financial operations Maintain appropriate controls and reconciliations to support accuracy and financial integrity Assist in managing the external audit relationship for finance outputs and regulatory returns Motivate, manage and develop a high performing team
What we are looking for
Professional Accountancy Qualification (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA) is essential Significant post-qualification experience in insurance accounting/reporting under IFRS is essential Experience of Solvency II reporting and taxation is desirable Excellent knowledge of life accounting and reporting Excellent knowledge of data management and analysis Knowledge of financial analysis and controls Good problem analysis and proactive resolution skills Understanding of the Group's products and services Understanding of the industry and market Excellent verbal and written communication Excellent attention to detail
