We are looking for a Senior Learning Designer to lead the end‑to‑end design and development of learning programmes, translating learning needs and business objectives into engaging, instructionally robust learning journeys across workshops, digital learning, assessments, and work‑based application.OverviewAs a Senior Learning Designer you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end design and development of learning programmes, translating learning needs and business objectives into structured, engaging, and instructionally robust learning journeys. You will work independently and lead programmes from the Learning Experience Design (LXD) team's perspective, review and ensure the quality of work procured from internal and external collaborators, and coach and mentor team members.AccountabilitiesOwnership of all LXD tasks and activities assigned as part of the project/programme deliverables.Design and develop learning content and assets across all blended learning modalities.Review, provide feedback, and update products to ensure high quality of learning experience.Learning Needs Analysis & Learning Outcomes DesignAnalyse learning requirements and translate them into clear, measurable learning outcomes.Convert learning outcomes into structured training objectives aligned to programme and business goals.Ensure all design decisions are grounded in learner insight, role relevance, and performance needs.Learning Architecture & Instructional Strategy DesignDesign end‑to‑end blended learning structures aligned to training objectives and learner needs.Define learning pathways across pre‑work, workshops, practice, and post‑learning reinforcement.Select appropriate instructional methods, delivery formats, media, tools, and technologies.Define assessment approach and learning experience strategy to ensure effective knowledge and skill transfer.Collaborate with SMEs to validate structure, sequencing, and instructional integrity.Learning Content Design, Writing & StoryboardingDevelop detailed content outlines and storyboards across all modalities (workshops, digital, multimedia, resources).Structure learning content flow including sequencing, interactions, activities, and media integration.Design workshop materials, eLearning content, and learner resources aligned to instructional specifications.Ensure high standards of written English, visual design, clarity, and learner experience.Maintain consistency across all learner touchpoints in collaboration with delivery and content teams.Assessment Design & Applied Learning ActivitiesDesign scenario‑based assessments aligned to learning outcomes and programme objectives.Collaborate with SMEs to create realistic, work‑based challenges and assignments.Ensure assessments evaluate applied knowledge, skills, and behaviours, not just theoretical understanding.Support learner reflection, confidence checking, and performance validation through structured activities.Quality Assurance, Review & Continuous ImprovementReview and quality‑assure all learning assets to ensure instructional integrity and consistency.Incorporate feedback from learners, SMEs, facilitators, and stakeholders into iterative improvements.Take accountability for learning product quality and learner experience outcomes.Provide and receive constructive feedback grounded in instructional design principles and adult learning theory.Manage expectations and maintain alignment across stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.Team Leadership, Delivery Support & Capability BuildingLead and support Learning Designers through coaching, guidance, and structured development plans.Allocate and manage workload across projects to ensure delivery efficiency and quality.Facilitate design reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and best‑practice adoption.Own performance management processes, including feedback, progression, and capability development.Foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture focused on quality, learning impact, and continuous improvement.Skills And BehavioursStrive for excellence in everything you do; behave like a true learning professional to ensure the quality of every learning‑facing asset and product.Build brilliant, collaborative, and productive relationships with colleagues and partners alike.Solve problems elegantly and creatively, working with stakeholders across the business to deliver.Take accountability for your own success, and the success of others.Team and Reporting StructureYou will be part of the LXD team and directly report to the Learning Experience Director.QualificationsSubject matter expert in Learning Experience Design (LXD), andragogy, with a strong command of instructional design principles, learning science, and adult learning theory.Proven learning designer with expertise in designing effective, scalable blended learning experiences across digital, workshop, and work‑based modalities.Highly proficient in prompt engineering and the practical application of Generative AI tools (including ChatGPT, Gemini, NotebookLM, and Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate and enhance learning design activities.Strong collaborative team player with a track record of working effectively across Product, SMEs, facilitation, and technical teams to deliver high‑quality learning solutions.Passionate about leveraging technology to transform learning experiences and committed to the mission of bringing technology education to a wider audience with impact and accessibility.Learning and ProgressionAll team members gain full exposure to Decoded learning programmes and are encouraged to develop in digital technologies, innovation, leadership, management, and strategy.
