Job Overview
Provide strategic technical leadership across instrumentation, control systems, and SCADA for hazardous environments
Shape engineering standards, influence regulatory frameworks, and drive innovation across gas distribution networks
Support asset risk assessments and lead interactions with regulators and industry bodies
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering continuous improvement and technical excellence
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with statutory and company engineering standards
Provide technical judgement on complex instrumentation and control system designs, drawings, and data
Influence internal and external stakeholders, providing engineering advice and guidance
Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, standards, and delivery
Lead and support technical risk assessments and audits
Represent engineering function in external regulatory or industry interactions
Required Qualifications & Experience
8–12 years’ experience in instrumentation, control systems, and SCADA in hazardous or industrial environments
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including EAWR, DSEAR, EPS, and other relevant standards
Demonstrated engineering judgement and ability to interpret complex technical information
Proven leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK
