We are currently supporting a major UK government-facing organisation in the search for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their core infrastructure team. This role will play a key part in supporting and maintaining critical enterprise platforms across a complex, multi-technology environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on infrastructure specialist with strong experience across VMware, Linux and Citrix environments , working within a highly secure and technically challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on support and administration across enterprise infrastructure platforms
Support and maintain VMware virtualisation environments
Manage and maintain Linux (Debian) server environments
Support Citrix platforms including upgrades, maintenance and troubleshooting
Contribute to infrastructure improvement, optimisation and reliability initiatives
Work collaboratively with internal teams and third-party suppliers to support services
Produce and maintain technical documentation and knowledge sharing across teams
Assist with infrastructure projects and platform enhancements
Key Skills & Experience
Strong experience supporting VMware environments (configuration, updates, platform support)
Solid Linux administration experience (Debian preferred)
Experience supporting Citrix environments
Good understanding of Windows infrastructure including identity and access management
Exposure to public or private cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
Strong troubleshooting skills across enterprise infrastructure platforms
Experience working within operational environments supporting BAU and project delivery
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced infrastructure support team
Additional Information
Candidates must be British nationals and able to obtain SC Security Clearance
Hybrid working with regular onsite presence required in Milton Keynes
On-call participation may be required as part of the role
