Moog Aircraft Group – Military Actuation, is looking for a bright, analytical engineer with a strong grasp of hydraulics and mechanical systems based in Wolverhampton. This is a technical role focused on ensuring Moog’s primary flight control products meet stringent performance and safety requirements. You’ll be part of a team that values precision, technical excellence, and collaboration. This is an opportunity to apply your engineering expertise to complex systems that matter.
What You’ll Do
Interpret and manage customer technical requirements for primary flight control products, ensuring they are accurately translated into Moog specifications.
Size and select actuators to meet performance requirements, using hydraulic and mechanical principles.
Perform detailed analysis and modelling of system performance, including simulation techniques to predict behaviour under various conditions.
Define and oversee compliance activities, including validation and verification plans, test schedules, and procedures.
Lead technical investigations into product issues, working with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
Prepare technical documentation and reports, including compliance matrices, test reports, and proposals for new business opportunities.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across design, stress, safety, and materials engineering to ensure robust solutions.
Support the full product lifecycle, from requirements definition through design, analysis, testing, qualification, and entry into service.
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, a first-class or high 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering (with exposure to hydraulics and systems engineering).
Strong understanding of hydraulics and mechanical equipment performance analysis.
Excellent analytical skills with experience in modelling and simulation (MatLab, Mathcad).
Ability to work across the full product lifecycle—from requirements definition to qualification and entry into service.
Clear communication and report-writing skills; confident working independently and in multi-disciplinary teams.
