They are seeking Senior Engineers with a consultancy background who specialise in highways design, drainage design, or both, and who are comfortable working across multidisciplinary development projects. \nThis opportunity suits engineers who enjoy technical ownership, client-facing work, and mentoring junior staff, while contributing to the delivery of high-quality infrastructure solutions across the public and private sectors.

\n\nThe Role \nDepending on your background and strengths, you will work on highways, drainage, or integrated infrastructure schemes, supporting projects from early feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction. \nYou will be involved in project delivery, technical design, client coordination and supporting junior engineers, with scope to broaden your skillset where desired. \nTypical responsibilities may include:\n\nLeading or contributing to highway and/or drainage design packages\nPreparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings and design outputs\nDelivering projects in line with agreed budgets, programmes and standards\nSupporting fee proposals and ongoing project management\nLiaising with clients, local authorities, statutory bodies and contractors\nAttending client and design team meetings\nGuiding, supporting and mentoring junior team members\nWorking collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment\n\nRelevant Highways and / or Drainage Experience May Include:\n\nDesign of adoptable highways and infrastructure, including Section 38 and Section 278 schemes\nDesign of residential estate roads, commercial and industrial access arrangements\nJunction layouts, vehicle tracking and access design in line with current standards\nHighway and drainage design in accordance with DMRB, Local Authority standards and guidance\nDrainage design from feasibility through to detailed design, including on-plot and highway drainage\nPreparation of Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies and technical drainage notes\nSuDS design including ponds, basins, tanks, swales and rain gardens\nSection 104 / 106 / 185 drainage designs and approval processes\nDesign to CIRIA guidance, Sewerage Sector Guidance, Building Regulations and local standards\nGround modelling, earthworks and pavement design\nLiaison with Local Authorities, National Highways, LLFAs, statutory undertakers and the Environment Agency\nSupporting tender and construction phases, including responding to RFIs and technical queries\n\nAbout You \n\nUK consultancy experience in highways, drainage or both\nProficient with AutoCAD (essential) and Civil 3D\nExperience with InfoDrainage and/or Site3D is advantageous\nStrong understanding of relevant design standards and guidance\nConfident communicator with good written and verbal skills\nAble to manage multiple projects and priorities\nComfortable in a client-facing role\nChartered or working towards Chartership is welcomed, but not essential\n\nWhat's On Offer \nThis is an employee-owned business, meaning staff have a genuine stake in the company's success.
