We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Senior Engineer – Power Station Integration, to be involved in industry leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.
The Senior Systems Engineer will develop & deliver design solutions that meet the required attributes of the RR SMR power station (e.g. net power, cost, availability) by integrating functional design and undertaking design optioneering as a key member of the Power Station Integration team.
The Power Station Integration team looks at both the functional plant design and the associated measures of performance and this role may undertake aspects of both these areas including using systems engineering methods to integrate solutions across the power station as well as flowing requirements to lower tier systems ensuring the whole power station requirements and identifying and driving improvements and risk mitigations where the attributes are affected
- Own and run independently the design of Power Station Capabilities and manage the performance and attributes of the power station in relation to these. E.g. net power output, availability, product cost etc.
- Use experience and optioneering & systems engineering techniques to deliver Power Station design solutions against product requirements.
- Drive the delivery of performance opportunities and risk mitigations -
- Support the business understanding of impact of variations internally and externally impact on the MOPs
- Ensure requirements flow to the lower tier systems enables the overarching power station attributes and objectives to be met.
- Elicit capability requirements.
- Integrate across multi-disciplined design teams to develop the design of the capability.
- Deliver the plant level solutions to meet key attributes.

Pay And Benefits
We anticipate paying a salary of between £48,000 - £62,500 DOE plus:-
- Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
- Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
- Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
- Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
- Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
- Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
- £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases

Each Rolls-Royce SMR power station will have the capacity to generate 470MW of low carbon energy, equivalent to more than 150 onshore wind turbines and enough to power a million homes.
