Senior Civil Engineer at MWH Treatment

As MWH Treatment embarks on its new journey as one of Northumbrian Water’s (NWL) capital delivery partners, we are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Senior Civil Engineer. Based predominantly in the Essex & Suffolk region, you will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead - Civil or the Senior Design Manager. This role will require traveling to other MWH regions initially to embed and support your career within the MWH Treatment culture.

Our programme of work, across various water and wastewater schemes, is expected to be around £280M.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Production: Produce cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and are suitable for construction and commissioning. Consider all costs, including design time, materials, erection, and impacts on other disciplines.
2. Standard Practices: Ensure the use of standard practices where possible, maintain competitiveness, and provide estimates and feedback to the Proposals department.
3. Procedures and Processes: Follow, develop, monitor, and review procedures to ensure departmental development and smooth operation.
4. Design Coordination: Coordinate designs with all disciplines, internal and external, to benefit the overall contract.
5. Documentation: Maintain files and records throughout contract durations.
6. Customer Satisfaction: Assure customer satisfaction, recognizing it as key to achieving objectives.
7. Team Development and Safety: Assist in supervising staff, ensuring a safe working environment, and reducing waste.
8. Environmental and Safety Considerations: Ensure designs account for environmental issues and health and safety requirements.
