Senior Ecologist
Location: Lockington, East Yorkshire
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
The Opportunity
Our client, a leading environmental consultancy, is looking for a Senior Ecologist to join their growing team in Lockington. This role offers the chance to take a leading position on a range of ecological projects, providing expertise and guidance across a diverse portfolio of clients.
As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in shaping ecological strategies, mentoring junior staff, and delivering high-quality ecological advice and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate ecological surveys and assessments, including protected species and habitat surveys
Prepare ecological reports, Environmental Impact Assessments, and planning documents
Develop and implement mitigation strategies and biodiversity enhancement plans
Manage projects, budgets, and client relationships, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
Mentor and support junior ecologists, sharing expertise and fostering professional development
Ensure all work complies with UK wildlife legislation, planning policy, and industry best practice
About You
Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
Significant experience in an ecological consultancy or similar role
Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, planning policy, and survey methodologies
Proven experience managing projects and supervising staff
Excellent report-writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Full UK driving licence
