The Senior Director. Business Development will be responsible for the identification, qualification, and development of new sales opportunities and new customer accounts. They may also take full or partial responsibility for existing accounts.
The role will be a pivotal function in the Sales team, and will involve working closely with the Marketing, Contracts, Finance, and Operations teams in order to strengthen and accelerate the pipeline of new business.
New Business
- Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks.
- Profile accounts to determine fit with TRI’s targeting criteria, value proposition, and solutions.
- Identify and contact key personnel within target accounts, including email, social media, and telephone.
- Qualify target accounts by engaging with key personnel to understand their current position, capabilities and needs.
- Work closely with Marketing department to understand and promote TRI’s marketing messages.
- Work with Marketing to ensure all leads produced are quickly and effectively followed up with to ensure no loss of momentum
- Demonstrable track record of high-level sales experience in the life sciences industry.
- Experience of selling technology to pharma, biotech, and CRO sectors preferred.
- A university degree (or equivalent). A relevant technical or scientific field is preferred.
- Track record of lead generation and account development within the biotech/pharma industry
- Experience of Salesforce CRM (or similar)
- Able to travel within the UK and globally.
- Knowledge of drug development and approval process.

- Salary - Depending on Experience + OTE
