Senior Data Architect (Cloud | Event-Driven | Thought Leader)
London, Edinburgh, or Manchester - 2 days/week in office
We’re supporting a Tier 1 bank as they reset and modernise their data architecture, simplifying a complex monolithic estate to make data more accessible, event driven and cloud . This is en exciting opportunity to help shape the blueprint at a pivotal moment of change while bringing others on the journey.
They’re looking for a Senior Data Architect who combines deep technical expertise with thought leadership and strong stakeholder presence. You will challenge thinking, lead discussions and help embed modern data principles across the organisation, influencing at senior levels while staying pragmatic and hands on.
What You’ll Do
Define and deliver the data architecture vision for a critical domain Design cloud , event driven, microservices based architectures Drive adoption of Data Mesh, Data as a Product and streaming first approaches Influence and educate senior business, technology and regulatory stakeholders Guide and mentor engineers and architects through the transition to modern practices
What We’re Looking For
Senior or Enterprise Data Architect experience at scale in large federated regulated organisations Expertise in cloud platforms (ideally AWS), event driven architecture, Kafka and microservices Familiarity with platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake and a broad toolkit Credibility to challenge constructively, lead conversations and represent architecture at senior levels Pragmatic hands on mindset, able to teach influence and guide others through change
