About The Business Division
The Water Utilities Division is Mott MacDonald’s centre of excellence for responding to the UK and Ireland's water and wastewater challenges. The team focuses on safe water supplies, preventing urban flooding, and improving the health of rivers and coastal environments. Our multidisciplinary teams provide services throughout the full project life cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies to outline and detailed design, delivering best‑in‑class solutions to our clients while offering diverse and technically stimulating opportunities to our people.
Overview Of The Role
The Asset Management and Infrastructure Planning team is one of five sub‑sectors within our Water Utilities Division, employing around 350 people across the UK. We work in the water sector and with other infrastructure providers both in the UK and internationally across the following workstream areas:
Technical assurance of statutory regulatory submissions such as annual performance reporting, business cases and business plans, long‑term strategic plans, operational performance and deliverables
Water resource investment planning
Wastewater and bioresources investment planning
Strategic asset management and business planning
Carbon and net‑zero appraisal and strategic planning
Integrated systems management
Data analytics and decision support tools
Contract’s appraisal (NEC, PPP)
As a Senior Professional for Assurance, you will be at the heart of our assurance delivery for clients, contributing to our delivery capability. You will report directly to the Workstream Lead and be an important part of our Assurance Team and the wider asset management practice community.
Candidate Specification
Essential
Regulatory technical assurance experience linked to the water industry’s AMP cycles
Academic and professional qualifications with relevant skills and experience
Background in engineering, accounting/economics, asset management, auditing, and technical assurance of statutory regulatory submissions such as annual performance reporting, business cases and business plans, long‑term strategic plans and deliverables
Skills in asset management ISO standards and requirements, technical audits, the assessment of regulatory requirements and impacts on service outputs, service metrics, performance commitments and the associated base and enhancement schemes
Experience of delivering technical assurance work within the constraints of regulatory submission timescales
Membership of a professional body and/or water regulatory networks
Capable of presenting assurance findings in a clear and understandable manner through formal and information presentations and assurance reports
Skills to adapt to changing situations and environments and to respond quickly and proactively to emerging opportunities and risks
Willingness to undertake assignments throughout the UK, as well as short international visits
