Senior Compliance Manager

An established and entrepreneurial insurance broker, with operations across the UK and Europe, is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager to lead their compliance and risk framework. This is a stand-alone role, ideal for a hands-on, pragmatic compliance expert looking to make a real impact within a business offering a broad range of general insurance products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary owner of the risk and compliance agenda across the business.
• Advise senior management and staff on regulatory requirements and best practice.
• Design, implement and regularly review internal policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify and respond to emerging regulatory risks and trends, offering practical mitigation strategies.
• Promote a culture of compliance, high ethical standards, and professional conduct across all business functions.
• Serve as the main point of contact for the FCA and other regulatory bodies.
• Deliver compliance training and awareness across teams at all levels.
• Lead or support cross-functional projects with regulatory or operational significance.
• Support the onboarding, monitoring, and governance of Appointed Representatives (ARs).
• Engage and influence internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with the firm’s compliance strategy.

Ideal Candidate:

• Demonstrable experience in a compliance or risk management role within a broker, preferably Lloyds.
• Strong working knowledge of FCA regulations and relevant compliance frameworks.
• Capable of operating independently, while influencing at board and senior management level.
• Experience working with AR models and international operations is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to balance commercial and regulatory demands.
