We’re looking for a Senior Carbon Manager to play a pivotal role in defining how a large, complex estate is refurbished, renewed and future‑proofed - sustainably, strategically and at scale.

You’ll join during the definition phase, when the biggest decisions are still being made. This is your chance to influence design and delivery from the ground up, building on recently achieved PAS 2080 certification and shaping a 10‑year transformation programme with long‑term impact. What you’ll be doing:

Leading the Carbon Strategy - Own and drive the carbon management approach across a £2bn capital investment programme spanning multiple major assets. Influencing from Definition Stage - Embed carbon thinking at the very beginning of how projects are designed and delivered, before decisions are locked in. Owning Carbon Budgets and Commitments - Take full responsibility for the programme’s carbon budget and associated consented commitments. Managing and Developing Capability - Line‑manage an existing Carbon Manager focused on carbon accounting, while taking ownership of broader carbon management activity. Driving Continuous Improvement - Build on what’s already in place, challenge existing approaches and identify smarter, more effective ways of delivering outcomes. Who they’re looking for:

An Experienced Senior Carbon Professional - You’ll be confident operating at a senior, strategic level from day one. Strategic and Influential - Comfortable shaping strategy and engaging senior stakeholders across engineering, delivery and the supply chain. Ready to Hit the Ground Running - Proactive, decisive and able to quickly understand complex programmes and take ownership. Experienced in Major Capital Programmes - Ideally with exposure to large, live infrastructure environments over long‑term investment horizons.
