Senior Backend Engineer | Golang | Backend Ownership

This role gives you real ownership. You will work directly with the founders and the VP of Engineering, shape core architecture, and build the systems that everything else will rely on. The problems are challenging, data rich, and tied to real-world impact.


The role

• Build a high-impact platform from emerging MVP to global scale - cloud natie & data-heavy

• Influence early architectural decisions that set long-term technical direction

• Own services end to end, including deployment and monitoring

• Ship high-quality, user-focused features 

• Collaborate with the founding team on strategy, hiring, and scaling the tech team.

Core skills

• Minimum 5 years commercial Golang experience, including APIs, microservices, and gRPC or REST

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, with hands-on PostgreSQL and Redis in production

• Experience owning services end to end, from design and build through to production support

• Cloud experience, ideally AWS, with confidence deploying and running services in live environments

• Working knowledge of observability, including logging, metrics, and alerting

• A product mindset, with interest in the problem being solved and the impact of technical decisions

• Comfortable working autonomously in a small, fast-moving team with clear communication


Salary - Up to £95k + equity + benefits


Location - London (hybrid)
