Role Overview

We are supporting a Tier 1 contractor delivering a major 132kV substation project in Reading and are seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to support works on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will have proven SSE project experience and will play a key role in ensuring safe high-voltage operations in line with network and client safety rules.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Senior Authorised Person (SAP) on a 132kV substation project
• Carry out and authorise high‑voltage switching operations
• Work in full compliance with SSE safety rules and procedures
• Issue, control, and cancel safety documentation (PTW, SFT, LOA, etc.)
• Support commissioning, outages, and energisation activities as required
• Liaise with control rooms, site teams, and project stakeholders
• Maintain safe systems of work and ensure site safety at all times
