Senior Android Engineer – Full Stack | Generative AI | 8 Million Users | Greenfield Build

Up to £120,000 + Equity | 4 Days/Week in Office | Hybrid | Old Street


Owen Thomas has partnered exclusively with a rapidly scaling social media platform using generative AI to drive fresh content creation and user engagement.


In just over two years, the company has grown to over 8 million users on its web application across both free and subscription tiers. Following the recent launch of their iOS app—which gained 40,000+ users within weeks they're now building the Android app, which already has 50,000+ users pre-registered.


They're now seeking a Senior Android Developer with full stack experience to take full ownership of the Android application from the ground up.


Given the explosive growth of the iOS app, the team is confident the Android version will follow suite, making this a high-impact role with real visibility.


What You’ll Be Doing


  • Own the Android application: architect, build, and design a scalable and elegant solution.
  • Lead the launch of the Android app to a growing waitlist of over 50,000 users.
  • Collaborate closely with Product to shape and ship new features.
  • Contribute to backend development in TypeScript and support iOS engineering when needed.
  • Build a mobile experience capable of handling millions of users at scale.

  • What We’re Looking For

    • 4+ years of Android development experience.
    • Proficiency with Jetpack Compose.
    • Experience in start-up or scale-up environments.
    • Exposure to backend development (TypeScript preferred) or iOS engineering.
