Overview

An award‑winning consultancy seeks a qualified Pensions Actuary to join their Private Sector Pensions team in a consultative role based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh. The firm has recently grown, won new business and taken on new projects, requiring a senior‑level professional to deliver high‑quality actuarial service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical actuarial service to private sector pension clients, covering investment advice, valuations and both private and public sector engagements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
  • Account‑manage client engagements, delivering deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Drive proactive business growth and identify opportunities for new work.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced team members.
  • Prepare technical papers for internal and external publication and contribute to the development of new service propositions.
  • Participate in marketing and new‑business activities for the firm.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Fellow member of the Institute or Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent actuarial qualifications).
  • Solid technical pensions background, including joined‑up investment and actuarial advice.
  • Experience with bulk transfers and knowledge of employee benefits issues that support client solutions.
  • Strong client‑focused mindset, confident communication skills and a commercially minded approach.
  • Passionate, self‑motivated and enthusiastic with strong consulting and teamwork skills.
