SEND Teaching Assistant (Experience Essential)

Location: Southwark, London
Pay Range: £90 – £115 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary / Long-Term

We’re recruiting an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Southwark. This role is ideal for a skilled professional who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and can make an immediate impact.

Please note: Previous experience working within SEND settings is essential for this role.

The Role – SEND Teaching Assistant

You will support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, implementing tailored strategies to meet individual needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support learning, behaviour, and emotional development.

Role Requirements – Ideal Candidate Will:

* Have proven SEND experience in a school setting (essential)

* Be confident supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech & language needs

* Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation strategies

* Be patient, resilient, and nurturing

* Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
