SEN Teaching Assistant – Poplar, Tower Hamlets
Start Date: ASAP | Full-Time

TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a resilient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a large, 3-form entry primary school in the Poplar area of Tower Hamlets.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs in a school that requires confident, proactive staff who can thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment.

The Role:

Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored and engaging learning activities
Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour effectively
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Helping to create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential
Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour in a school setting
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
