SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND Provision – Experience Essential)

Location: Woolwich, Greenwich, London
Pay Range: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary / Long-Term

We’re recruiting an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Woolwich, Greenwich, working within the school’s dedicated SEND Provision. This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled TA who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs in a structured and nurturing environment.

Please note: Previous SEND experience is essential for this role.

The Role – SEND Teaching Assistant

You will be working within the school’s SEND Provision, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. You will assist with delivering structured interventions, supporting personalised learning plans, and promoting positive behaviour and engagement.

Role Requirements – Ideal Candidate Will:

Have proven experience working with children with SEND (essential)

*

Be confident supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, or complex needs

*

Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation strategies

*

Be patient, resilient, and nurturing in approach

*

Work effectively as part of a specialist SEND team

*

Support the delivery of EHCP targets and interventions

*

Have excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities Include:

Supporting pupils within the SEND Provision on a 1:1 and small group basis

*

Delivering targeted interventions and structured learning activities

*

Promoting independence, confidence, and emotional regulation

*

Working closely with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals

*

Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
