The Opportunity

Milk Education is recruiting for a well-established specialist SEND provision in Tottenham supporting pupils with complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), communication difficulties, sensory processing needs, and physical or medical requirements.

This setting provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils receive highly personalised support from a multidisciplinary team. We’re seeking a resilient, committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team on a day-to-day, term-time basis, with strong potential for the role to become long-term or permanent.

The Role

This is a hands-on SEN role suited to someone confident supporting pupils with a wide range of needs. You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver individualised learning, communication strategies, and regulation support.

Consistency is key. The right candidate will be calm, patient, and able to follow structured routines to help pupils feel safe, regulated, and ready to engage in learning.

Key Responsibilities

Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex SEND

Using visual communication systems including PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables

Supporting sensory regulation through structured breaks, sensory tools, and environmental adjustments

Assisting with personal care, mobility support, and medical routines where required

Supporting adapted learning across:

Communication and language

Social and life skills

Literacy and numeracy

Using positive behaviour support strategies to manage anxiety, transitions, and emotional regulation

Working collaboratively with teachers and therapists to follow structured programmes

Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, professionalism, and pupil care at all times
