SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time, Long-Term Role (Manchester)
The Education Specialists are currently seeking a resilient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students within a PRU-style setting in Manchester. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting ASAP, ideal for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on young people facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner Support the delivery of tailored learning activities both inside and outside the classroom Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to support individual learning plans The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with young people, ideally in a PRU, SEMH, or alternative provision setting Be confident managing challenging behaviour and de-escalating situations Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners Be adaptable and proactive in a dynamic environment Hold a valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one) Desirable (but not essential):
