SEN Teaching Assistant

Horizon Teachers are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Primary school in Barking and Dagenham on a full-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a highly supportive team. You’ll be working in a small, nurturing class environment with pupils who have Autism, delivering focused 1:1 and small group interventions. Alongside teachers and TAs, you’ll play a key role in helping every child reach their full potential and flourish both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
1:1 and group support for pupils with SEND Work with the class teacher, teaching assistants and wider inclusion team to deliver engaging, differentiated learning experiences. Help prepare and tidy the classroom throughout the day. Support with lunch-time duty. Encourage independence, confidence, and resilience in all pupils. Support with personal care (feeding, changing, etc.) About You
Experience supporting children with SEND in a professional or personal capacity Confident supporting children with various levels of Autism, as well as pupils who are non-verbal A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills A proactive, positive approach and a collaborative mindset Comfortable with personal care Why Join Horizon Teachers?
