SEN Teaching Assistant - Sheffield Are you a patient, resilient and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible, temporary ongoing work in specialist SEN schools across Sheffield? ASAP or from a start date that suits you About the Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant in a specialist SEMH/SEN school, you will support pupils who may present with emotional regulation needs, sensory differences, communication difficulties or challenging behaviours. Your role will involve helping pupils access learning, build confidence, develop emotional resilience and achieve personalised outcomes within a structured and nurturing school environment. These roles are ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and who thrives in a consistent, supportive team. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN * Promote emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour strategies * Adapt tasks and activities to meet individual learning needs * Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals * Contribute to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times * Help create a safe, inclusive and structured classroom environment * Follow behaviour support plans and individual learning plans Candidate Requirements Experience supporting children or young people with SEN/SEMH (essential) Knowledge of additional needs such as SEMH, ASD, ADHD or communication needs Calm, patient and confident when supporting dysregulation or challenging behaviour Strong communication and teamwork skills Enhanced Child and Adult DBS (or willingness to apply) Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE/NVQ Level 2/3) are desirable but not essential Behaviour management or Team Teach training is advantageous What Academics Offer Flexible and ongoing SEN Teaching Assistant roles across Sheffield Competitive daily pay between £88.94 - £100 Supportive specialist SEN/SEMH school environments Ongoing guidance from experienced education consultants Refer a friend scheme - earn up to £125 in Love2Shop vouchers If you are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible and rewarding work across Sheffield SEN settings, we would love to hear from you.
