Teach Now is delighted to be recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Reception class in a dynamic and welcoming primary school in Barnet. This role is ideal for someone with strong EYFS knowledge and hands-on experience supporting children with additional needs, ready to make a meaningful impact in the early years setting.
About the Role
You will be joining a Reception class with several pupils who require tailored support, making your understanding of early childhood development and SEN strategies essential. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help create a nurturing, engaging, and structured environment where every child can thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing targeted support for children with a variety of additional needs
• Supporting early communication, social development and foundational learning skills
• Helping deliver high-quality EYFS provision through play-based and structured activities
• Breaking down tasks, facilitating learning through modelling and scaffolding
• Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• Encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence in young learners
About the School
This school prides itself on having a diverse and vibrant learning community where high expectations and a strong sense of belonging go hand in hand. Known for its warm, busy, and friendly atmosphere, the school sits within extensive grounds and its own Nature Reserve, offering rich opportunities for outdoor learning and exploration.
Staff, governors, families, and community partners work closely together to create a secure, nurturing environment where children develop as confident, independent learners. The school fosters curiosity, creativity, and a passion for learning in all areas of school life.
Why This Role Stands Out
• A supportive environment rooted in care, collaboration, and high aspirations
• A chance to make a real difference during a crucial stage of early development
• A school committed to creating meaningful learning opportunities indoors and outdoors
If you are a compassionate, skilled EYFS practitioner with SEN experience, we would love to hear from you.
