We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in Barking and Dagenham, supporting learners aged 16 to 19 with complex needs. This SEN Teaching Assistant role focuses on providing high-quality support through education and training in a structured and nurturing environment.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists in Barking and Dagenham to deliver personalised education and training programmes. Personal care is essential in this role, and you must be confident supporting young people with physical, medical, and learning needs.

Day-to-day responsibilities:
Support learners aged 16-19 with complex needs in the classroom and around the setting
Provide personal care as required, ensuring dignity, safety, and wellbeing at all times
Assist the teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions
Support students with communication, sensory, physical, and behavioural needs
Encourage independence, engagement, and social development
Monitor progress and provide feedback vto teaching staff and other professionals
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
