What youll be doing Supporting pupils with autism, communication needs, or social, emotional and behavioural needs
Helping students settle into lessons and follow clear routines
Working one to one or in small groups to build confidence and engagement
Assisting teachers with adapted activities and simple intervention work
Helping pupils manage transitions and stay focused throughout the day
Creating a calm, predictable environment where pupils feel secure
What settings will be looking for Recent experience (6+ months within the last 3 years) supporting pupils with SEN in a school or specialist environment
A calm, patient and consistent approach
Someone who notices small details and responds thoughtfully
Confidence working independently and as part of a team
Reliability and a genuine interest in helping young people feel understood and supported
A Level 3 TA qualification or a related background (such as psychology, youth work, care or health and social care) is helpful but not essential. What matters most is how you work with pupils.
