Sen Teaching Assistant

A dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant is sought for a full-time, position within an Alternative Provision in Staffordshire. This role requires a proactive individual who can support students both within the provision and on a 1:1 basis in the home environment.
Candidate Profile:
An experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong background supporting children and young people with Autism and challenging behaviour. Confident working in alternative education settings, delivering both in-class and outreach support tailored to individual needs.
Key skills and experience:
* Extensive experience supporting students with Autism and complex behavioural needs
* Strong ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people
* Confident working 1:1, including supporting learners within their home environment
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing challenging behaviour
* Experience delivering or supporting outdoor and activity-based learning
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle, with willingness to travel
Key responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support to students within the provision and at home
* Assist with engagement in learning through personalised approaches
* Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
* Accompany students on outings and outdoor activities to support development and engagement
* Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure consistent support
