SEN Teaching Assistants  Full-Time – Start After the Easter Break (or sooner for the right candidate) Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Our Barnsley-based school site is expanding, and we’re looking for committed SEN Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team. About the School The school is part of a well-established and forward-thinking multi-academy trust known for its inclusive ethos, strong values, and focus on providing high-quality education for all learners. The site supports pupils with a broad range of additional needs, offering a nurturing environment, personalised learning pathways, and access to experienced, supportive colleagues. Students who attend the site present with a range of SEN, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN) The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Support students in the classroom and during structured interventions. Help deliver tailored learning activities adapted to individual needs. Assist with behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing. Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN professionals, and external agencies. Play a key role in creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment. What We’re Looking For Previous experience supporting children with the SEN listed above (essential). A patient, resilient, and caring approach. Ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils. Strong communication skills. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn. Any relevant additional training or qualifications (e.g., Team Teach, Autism Awareness, Makaton, Trauma-Informed Practice) will be highly valued.
