As demand continues to grow in one of our partner schools, we are looking to expand our pool of dedicated SEN Teachers available for temporary, full-time supply work.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable SEN Teacher to join warm, well-structured specialist settings across North Somerset that supports pupils aged 4-19 with a range of additional needs. This position is offered on a temporary, supply basis. It is not a permanent contract, however,

You will:

Deliver lessons across KS1-KS4 (and occasionally Post-16), depending on experience
Teach small groups of pupils with mild to moderate learning difficulties, ASC, communication needs and SEMH presentations
Adapt planning and resources to meet varying learning levels
Work closely with LSAs, therapists and pastoral staff
Use trauma-informed, nurturing behaviour management strategies
Contribute to a calm, consistent and structured learning environment
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who often benefit from routine, patience and clear expectations
What to Expect from the Pupils
Learners may present with:

Autism spectrum conditions
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Speech, Language & Communication Needs
Low self-esteem, anxiety or emotional regulation difficulties
Occasional challenges in behaviour, supported by solid systems and guidance
A need for adapted, accessible teaching approachesWhat We're Looking For

QTS or QTLS (essential)
Experience teaching pupils with SEN, either in mainstream or a specialist setting
Strong differentiation skills and an ability to personalise learning
A calm, confident and resilient teaching style
Ability to build rapport quickly with pupils and support staff
Ideally, full-time availability or consistent part time availability
