Are you an enthusiastic, nurturing SEMH Teaching Assistant ready to make a significant impact on primary children in Croydon?

Join a highly-regarded, thriving primary school dedicated to inclusion and student well-being. This is an immediate, long-term placement with a strong view to a secured permanent role directly with the school.

You will provide crucial 1:1 support to primary-aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs (Key Stage 1/2) within a mainstream setting. You will collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and pastoral staff to deliver a tailored, supportive curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide targeted 1:1 support aligned with the pupil's SEMH plan, focusing on managing anxiety and emotional regulation.

Facilitate positive engagement, adapting tasks to meet the pupil's individual pace.

Effectively implement established behaviour management strategies (e.g., 'Zones of Regulation') consistently.

Maintain clear communication with staff and parents/carers regarding progress.

Essential Criteria:

Proven experience supporting primary-aged children with social, emotional, or mental health needs.

A calm, resilient, and proactive disposition when managing challenging behaviours.

Familiarity with successful SEMH support methodologies, such as emotional literacy or Nurture Group principles.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
